A quick web search for “RV apps” will spit out millions of results filled with lists of must-have apps for

RV’ers. There is no doubt having a digital tool belt of essential apps can turn a good trip into a great one.

Below, you’ll find our recommendations for apps that can benefit the full timers, the weekend warriors,

and everyone in between. These tools go a long way toward having a smooth, cost-effective, and

fulfilling trip.

Most people know that Wal-Mart will allow you to stay overnight in their parking lot. What many do not

know is that not every location is RV-friendly. Not only does this app help you find locations where you

can park your RV, but also gives turn-by-turn directions, user reviews, and pertinent information about

the area like road noise levels, power lines, etc.

This handy app maps all truck stops, including Loves, Petro, Pilot, Flying J, Travel America (TA), AmBest,

Sapp Brothers, and other independent establishments. For each truck stop, it provides detailed

information such as addresses, interstate exits, food options, truck service, number of parking spaces,

availability of bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), and RV facilities (special island, dump, propane). In

addition, it offers chat functionality and marks your GPS location on the map so that you can easily find

stops nearby.

A slightly lower price on fuel can mean big savings in the long run for RV’ers. With this app, you can find

the cheapest gas prices either by zip code or a nearby search based on your GPS location. If you

contribute by reporting price data, you can earn points, rewards, and you even have a chance at winning

free gas! Always getting the best gas prices in the area can make a noticeable impact on your

budget—for the better.

Sanidumps (Lite) is a free app that gives information about dumping stations on the fly. Search nearby

based on your GPS location or by zip code to prepare for an upcoming stop. Get turn-by-turn directions

with distances displayed in miles or kilometers, and even add up to 20 stations as favorites to make

them accessible offline. There is a premium version of the app available.

RV Dumps provides information similar to Sanidumps, but it does cost $1.99 to purchase.
